VAUDE has produced a film that offers a closer look at two of the Chinese textile companies that the outdoor supplier works with – the video can be viewed on YouTube at the VAUDE website. As a member of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), VAUDE is committed to fair labor practices and transparency in the presentation of its production sites. With this film, the company wants to show what the production sites look like, how they work, and what the global connections are behind it. In one of the facilities, an FWF audit took place during the shoot where working conditions were rigorously inspected – again, in front of running cameras.
For VAUDE it is a matter of course that the company not only takes responsibility for conditions at its company headquarters in Tettnang, Germany, but also especially at facilities that produce for the company worldwide. VAUDE has set itself the goal of becoming the most sustainable outdoor brand in Europe by 2015. This way, VAUDE can be objectively measured and evaluated. To achieve this, VAUDE discloses extensive information on ecological and social criteria, presenting the data in its Sustainability Report. Now the company has taken a further step and has published footage on manufacturing processes and facilities.
