After two gold awards at last year’s ISPO, ORTOVOX has raised the bar even higher. In addition to receiving the Gold Award in the Communication segment for best multi-channel campaign for the SAFETY ACADEMY LAB in December, ORTOVOX has now been awarded two further prizes for products: the POCKET SPIKE emergency ax has been awarded GOLD in the ski segment category Basic Avalanche Gear, and the new MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT SKI TOUR COLLECTION has been voted the WINNER in the ski segment category Outer Layer 3L.
THE AWARD
The ISPO Award is the most coveted trophy in the industry and has established itself as a SEAL OF QUALITY for the MOST INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS and as a pointer for dealers and end users. A few days ahead of the winter sports trade show, the most revolutionary new products in four categories are awarded prizes and are announced to journalists, dealers, and end users as TRADESHOW HIGHLIGHTS. The international jury evaluates the products according to criteria such as INNOVATION, DESIGN, FUNCTIONALITY and SUSTAINABILITY. After the company’s successful entries in recent years, the triple award is further proof of the high level of innovation exhibited by ORTOVOX in all product segments, as well as in communication.
The AWARD CEREMONY takes place on Monday, JANUARY 27, AT 4 P.M. at the Snow, Ice and Rock Summit in Hall A6. The winning products can be viewed throughout the entire show in Hall A2, Booth 309 and, of course, at ORTOVOX’s own booth in Hall B5 | 240.
POCKET SPIKE
The POCKET SPIKE is at home on the fine ridge between ski mountaineering with an ice pick and free hillwalking in steep terrain. Although usually tucked away in your backpack or pants pocket (hence the name), the EMERGENCY AXE can quickly be retrieved IN DICEY SITUATIONS. In just two steps, you can mount it onto the metal-reinforced PRO ALU III shovel handle for added protection. The POCKET SPIKE has two parts: The SHARP FORGED AXE HEAD made of anodized AL 7075 T6 and the SHAFT SPIKE, which replaces the shovel blade. The two parts can be folded together with no sharp edges for stowing in the carrying bag and WEIGH JUST 95 GRAMS. ORTOVOX offers the POCKET SPIKE either separately or as a set in combination with the PRO ALU III shovel. Suitable for all tours where a little additional support is needed over the last few meters.
MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT
This new fabric blend is the MOST ATHLETIC MATERIAL in the ORTOVOX ski tour collection! This LIGHT version has the same structure as the classic MERINO NATURETEC but is MUCH LIGHTER AND MORE BREATHABLE. The fine merino fiber fabric interior and the protective polyamide exterior weigh in at a mere 175 g/m². Special zones made of new INNOVATIVE MATERIALS such as the windproof MERINO PUNCHHOLE or the superelastic MERINO ATHLETIC make for extremely high-tech products. NATURTEC LIGHT is suitable for all ambitious ski tourers who nonetheless expect a high degree of protection and comfort.
