from steep névé of glacier crossings, mixed routes and ice climbing, the North-X’s stand-out feature is its special grip design. The hand rest can be precision-adjusted to the correct height with one hand only, no tools required,
and locks when loaded for maximum support when climbing steep rock or ice.
When held at the head for shaft placement in steep névé, the hand rest slides up to promote energy-saving movement and a more rapid ascent. The hotforged, interchangeable pick and 20° curved shaft guarantee a balanced swing action and secure, precise placement on all types of rock and ice. The grip zone is insulated to provide effective protection from the cold – a real bonus on longer routes. With its integrated belay loop (5kN breaking strength), the
North-X is also ideal for belay construction.
