Thanks to the French Federation of the Alpine Club (FFCAM) & the mountain guides (40 in 2015), the workshops from beginners to experts spread over 10 different areas are the priority of the event with:
Search and rescue for avalanche victims. Snowpack knowledge.
Alpine climbing preparation (knowlede of ice conditions, analysis of weather forecasts, how to read guidebooks, maps, routes)
Use of safety equipment: avalanche transceiver / shovel / probe
Professional exhibition and the equipment hire packs:
Thanks to our partners, during the Ice Climbing Ecrins festival you can try crampons, ice axes, helmets, shoes … within the limit of stocks.

International dry-tooling Contest
The OPEN will be held outdoor Saturday 16th from 10am for the qualifications, and indoor from 7pm for the finales. Around ten routes to climb, a forthcoming surprise, prize money up to 1000€ for the winners and many other prizes…
The ICE is the most social event on the planet!
This year we will merge with the rhythm of the bagpipes of the Bagad, with the sound of the didgeridoo of Said Belhaj and African percussionist Nuru Kane, we will dance with the Pole Dancers, and we will laugh of Celtic Games!
But the ICE festival also offers free massages by a team of physiotherapists, resoling of boots and shoes, mountain literature with a literary café, games for children…
Also guests “surprise”, a baby giant football, banquets, concerts, fireworks …
The ICE is the place to be: a moment where meetings, exchanges, initiation, training, performance, emotions and celebration make sense. A special event reflecting accessibility and originality!
