With the new VAUDE SUL tent category models, outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the comforts of a mobile home with even greater ease. Thanks to highly technical and super lightweight materials, VAUDE developers were able to push the weight of the new Hogan SUL 2P down to less than 1.4 kilograms. A sturdy lightweight construction provides a safe home for weight-conscious outdoor nomads on long treks.
Outdoor high-tech with German engineering
For the 2017 season, VAUDE developers took on the SUL division. SUL stands for the Super Ultralight category. For tent purists the SUL tents deliver pure function and minimal weight. These outdoor dwellings offer standardized unique Silicone Seam Seal waterproof technology – a technology that only VAUDE is capable of. The lightweight tents provide a great space-weight ratio and are ideal for lightweight freaks and long distance trails, as well as bike travelers and other spur-of-the-moment weekend adventurers.
Hogan SUL 2P – Trekking tent for weight watchers
The tried and tested Hogan design is now also available as a SUL version and bears the Green Shape guarantee for environmentally friendly production. Along with its “green look” (new color: cress green), it also received a slight facelift in terms of design. Thanks to ultra-light, UV-resistant outer material (20 D Ripstop Nylon, both sides siliconized) and a slightly thinner aluminum frame, the Hogan SUL 2P (weight 1,450 grams) is once again around 400 grams lighter than the UL version. Also new are the combined aluminum rope guide and tightener, as well as stable connection plates at the foot of the tent that allow for simple outer and inner tent attachment.
The optimized pole construction with a short first-crossbar offers significantly more interior space and headroom. Additional space was created at the foot of the tent by extending the rear pins. The vestibule is generously cut for more storage space in the entrance area. The high-quality 8.7 mm aluminum NFL Featherlite poles come from DAC, the market leader. The design was successfully tested during VAUDE’s own development in the DAC wind tunnel in wind speeds up to 90 km/h (head). The aluminum is anodized in a special ecological Green Anodizing process – an extra bonus for the environment.
As additional versions, the Hogan SUL is available for 1-2, 2 people in Spring 2017, or as XT 2-3P with extended vestibule. New in the SUL range is also the model Invenio, a miracle of space weighing less than 2 kg with an extravagant design, which thanks to two opposite entrances provides plenty of space for great views.
5 year warranty on all high-end tents
VAUDE tents have won over so many due to robust, UV-resistant, durable materials and highest quality workmanship. Therefore VAUDE offers a five year warranty on all siliconized tent models. Nevertheless, if a repair is necessary, VAUDE has for many years offered an in-house repair service that can quickly and easily replace or repair a broken pole, a hole in tent fabric or a defective zip.
