Europe’s largest business competition, the European Business Awards (EBA), has named the outdoor outfitter VAUDE ‘National Champion’ in the category of Environmental & Corporate Sustainability. In the next round of the competition, each National Champion will submit a presentation video that the public can then vote on. VAUDE’s submission is its English version of “The Green Thread” video, which clearly depicts the company’s holistic sustainability philosophy. The video is now available online – voting for the National Public Champion will continue until March 1, 2017.
636 businesses from 34 countries have been named National Champions in the European Business Awards (EBA) sponsored by RSM. In Germany, another 30 companies were honored in addition to VAUDE. The EBA is Europe’s largest competition in which companies are recognized and rewarded for outstanding entrepreneurial achievements. The EBA is sponsored by RSM International, one of the world’s largest networks of independent audit, tax and consulting firms.

Four stages to the finals: In the first round that ended in September, 636 companies were selected as National Champions – from more than 33,000 businesses – representing all major industry sectors and ranging from small start-ups to large multinationals.
In the next round, National Champions make a presentation video for the public. Last year over 227,000 votes were cast for the best videos. National Champions can be supported globally in the competition by their customers, employees, partners as well as the general public. From this vote, one National Public
Champion per country then moves forward. These winners will be announced in March 2017. Simultaneously, an independent jury selects 110 businesses to be honored with the ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ award.
In the final round, one National Public Champion will be voted European Public Champion. At the same time, the 110 ‘Ruban d”honneur’ businesses will compete for 1st Place in eight categories. The winners will be officially honored at the Gala Final in June.
