The new Nordica Strider will be equipped with Michelin Technical Soles for advanced ground control in Active Mountain.
Designed for all downhill skiers who want to test themselves on new snow adventures, to experience the mountain in an active way at 360 °. It offers a blend of performance for downhill on the slope (track), but also comfort, versatility and it’s very easy to use during the ascent. A boot that is thought to answer to specific needs, such as an innovative sole to provide traction and grip on snow and icy ground, stability and great resistance to cold. This is the reason Nordica has decided to rely, for the Strider project, on Michelin Technical Soles as the perfect partner who can transfer on its great experience in the field of ground contact.
The designers at Michelin Technical Soles have transferred “from tire to soles”, the right mix of rubber and together with Nordica team experts, the best tread design. The MICHELIN outsole featured on the Strider boot is inspired by the winter car tire MICHELIN Latitude X-Ice North and has been engineered with Michelin Winter Compound, a mixture of the specific hardness which can offer resistance to low temperatures down to -30 ° C, non-slip qualities and excellent abrasion resistance.
“Nordica and Michelin are renowned brands in their referent markets. Combining each expertise and experience is a great opportunity for both: from tires to boots, the challenge is to offer reliable and performant solutions. We are ready to introduce onto the market an innovative product that focuses on technology and cutting-edge, the two plus offered by Nordica and by Michelin” – Alberto Contento, Product Manager International, Nordica Skiboots
