Livigno is an out and out mecca for outdoor sports and our summer season for high altitude runners will kick off on Saturday 15th June with an unmissable double date.

This year too, Livigno will be one of the stages in the Migu Run Skyrunner World Series, and the 34km skymarathon (2700m a.s.l.) will bring the elite together on the border between Italy and Switzerland for an electrifying challenge.

The list of athletes who will be at the starting line shows that several champions have already confirmed their presence at Little Tibet’s Super Sky. Top skyrunners for the 2019 marathon include Petter Engdahl, Oriol Cardona Coll, Pablo Villa, Zaid Ait Malek, Pascal Egli, Pere Aurell Bove and Hillary Gerardi…and many others are expected to sign up now the racing season is ready for kick off.

It’s not only top athletes who’ll be at the event either, but the skyrunning population too, for what promises to be an event for everyone. Although there are fewer kilometres this year, there will be same excitement and breathtaking views for the K17 and this spectacular race is certainly not to be considered any less important. While the top runners in the sky will compete in the cup stage, younger athletes and those less keen on long distance races will have the chance to race on a track of rare beauty, that follows part of that of the main race but with a difference in height of just 1100m.

After a stunning initial stretch consisting of high ridges and technical single tracks, Livigno SkyMarathon‘s ‘younger sister’ will take the path that descends along Val Saliente to reach magical Val Federia and the heart of Livigno, the departure and arrival point of both competitions. Whether you’re a great champion or simply love this sport, you’ll be able to experience the truly unique excitement of skyrunning in Alta Valtellina, developed and re-proposed in a more modern key.
