Karpos, the Italian outdoor clothing brand will donate 10% of its online shop turnover to alpine rescue.
Whether it’s a snowshoe outing with friends, a ski mountaineering excursion in search of powder, or a rock or ice climb, outdoor activities often involve risk. The data released by the Italian national alpine rescue service speak clearly: 2022 saw a 9.8% increase in the number of operations compared to the previous year. A statistic that confirms the increasing trend and makes the work of the rescue volunteers — who have chosen to put themselves at the service of others, often in difficult conditions — even more necessary and valuable.
For the fourth year in a row, Karpos has decided to promote “Mountain Friday,” to support, in its own way, the activities of the guardians of mountain safety. From November 24 to December 3, the outdoor clothing brand will donate 10% of the turnover from its online shop to the alpine rescue stations that it partners with (Veneto, Piedmont, Liguria, and Tuscany).
In addition, anyone who makes a purchase in the Karpos online shop will receive free insurance coverage from the Dolomiti Emergency nonprofit, worth €25, valid through 2024 throughout Europe.
The partnership between Karpos and the alpine rescue service, which began more than 10 years ago, has produced valuable results, from the development of technical garments tested in extreme conditions to the launch of the Help the Mountains program, through which Karpos donates up to 1% of its online shop turnover each year.
Safety in the mountains is a topic of particular concern to Karpos. Since 2020, the brand has also been a partner of the “A Mountain of Safety” project, promoted by Veneto Alpine and Speleological Rescue, which aims to educate children and adults about mountain safety measures through the creation of informative communication materials.
