Raising awareness of the necessity to conserve and restore the natural world we depend on, as well as the need for more funds to support its ever growing conservation work, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to mark Earth Day this year by launching an online fundraiser, which has opened today.
Every year, on April 22nd, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. It is designed to highlight environmental issues on a world stage, and 2025 is no exception. Working with and amongst local communities, ensuring livelihoods are secured and enhanced, all the projects supported by EOCA address climate change and the loss of biodiversity in landscapes around the world.
Six EOCA members are running events starting today, 18th April, through to Friday 25th April, in recognition of Earth Day. AKU, Cumulus, Lorpen, Mont Blanc Treks, Osprey and Ternua are all getting involved by offering discounts on items of their websites, coupled with donations from those sales, or even ‘just’ outright donations, meaning that customers have the chance to buy the gear they need for their next adventure, and make a positive difference at the same time!
Tanya Kenrick, Joint General Manager of EOCA said, ”We are delighted to be working with these six forward-thinking members of the association, who have come together in recognition of Earth Day and
in support of EOCA and its conservation work. They are helping to raise awareness of our work and the vital need to look after the threatened wildlife and habitats around the world that humanity depends
on for its very existence”.
