The Sustainable Summits Conference is an opportunity to discuss the future of our high mountain regions, to boost awareness of the vulnerability of the high mountains, a common good for humanity, and to define firm commitments to protect these exceptional areas. For three days, attendees from around the world will join together in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. They will share their knowledge and experience and propose solutions for the future of our high mountains. Thursday 14 June, the Innovation Space will also allow companies to present new products or innovative applications for high mountain territories.

Innovations for the high mountains
The Innovation Space, at the very heart of the 4th Sustainable Summits Conference, is an opportunity to present innovative products and services from private sector businesses involved in the preservation of the mountains.

There are two goals for the Innovation Space:

1) To promote the companies that propose innovative and sustainable products and/or services for high altitude environments and the mountain communities.
2) To encourage, inspire and motivate entrepreneurs to enter the growing market of sustainable development in high altitude areas, with values based on innovation, sharing and respect of the environment and local populations.

Thursday 14 June, ten companies will be presenting their human expertise and technologies for a better future for the high mountains, specifically in the following areas: waste management, renewable energy production, responsible access to the high mountains and medical innovations.

Innovative solutions for exhibitors:

Sanisphère: eco-friendly dry toilets for public use at remote sites Standalone, constraint-free dry toilets for ski resorts and high-mountain areas: no water, no electricity, no need to add sawdust and frost proof.

Atawey: reliable, cost-effective and eco-friendly power plants for remote sites The Ataway system is able to meet energy supply challenges in the most extreme conditions, while also respecting the environment.

B-Where: distress beacons for mountain sports enthusiasts A beacon that can send out an alert even in the absence of a mobile network. It is small and lightweight, allowing it to fit into a backpack.

OXUP: an acclimatisation respirator for use at high altitude An acclimatisation respirator that reduces the effects of high altitude and altitude sickness on mountaineers.

Whympr: a mobile app for enhanced access to mountain activities This app allows users to access routes around the world from their mobile (for trekking, climbing and alpine touring).

GRIMM (Groupe d’Intervention Médical en Montagne) and HES-SO Valais-Wallis: a mobile health app for the mountains A smartphone app that allows users to assess their own symptoms.
