Mountain athletes have dreams and goals. Some large projects may appear perhaps idealistic — but they could in fact soon become reality. Starting on Oct. 4, Dynafit, the brand for mountain endurance athletes, is issuing a worldwide call to passionate athletes to make a bid for their personal “Mountopia.” DYNAFIT as well as its partners GORE® and PrimaLoft® will financially support the winner’s endeavor with expertise and equipment. Anyone who is not subject to a sponsorship agreement can participate. The application period runs from Oct. 4 to Nov. 30.
What’s your Mountopia? — For the third time, Dynafit is asking alpinists and athletes around the world what their biggest athletic dream is. There is no limit on imagination or creativity. Whether peak bagging, participating in a ski mountaineering race or in a haute route – every athletic endeavor is welcome, as long as it can be implemented with the support of DYNAFIT and its partners GORE® and PrimaLoft®. The only condition: Participants may not be subject to a sponsorship agreement. After a preliminary elimination round by an expert judge’s panel with athletes and mountain guides, 10 finalists will then battle for votes from the community. For four weeks, participants must show their training in photos and videos. The competition ends on Jan. 8, 2018. The victor will be named on Jan. 23, 2018.
How about a little inspiration? The first Mountopia winner Christopher Mohn from the United States has already fulfilled his personal mountain sports dream. On May 29, he was able to successfully finish the highest marathon in the world — the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon in Nepal. DYNAFIT was there with him and filmed the impressive and moving story.
