Ski touring and mountain sports brand DYNAFIT would like to invite you to take part in the 2nd annual Transalp speed crossing from Sept. 2-6, 2016. This Alpine crossing from Zugspitze to Meran, Italy, normally takes seven days by foot, but we’ll do it in three days. Mountain runners and endurance athletes from any country can apply between May 16 and July 15 at http://speedtransalp.dynafit.com/ to participate.

Last year’s successful DYNAFIT Speed Transalp will take place for the second time in September 2016. Enthusiastic mountain runners and endurance athletes are invited to put in their applications for a speedy Alpine crossing in running shoes. Two professional mountain guides and DYNAFIT athlete Javier Martin will accompany Transalp participants the entire route. As an experienced, professional, competitive athlete, Martin will offer tips and tricks about trail running. A total of eight participants from various countries will be selected from all applicants. Runners will be outfitted head to toe in DYNAFIT trail running gear they can also of course keep. In addition, all lodging, food, beverages, mountain guide and trainer services, as well as return transportation from Meran to Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be covered.

The starting gun will go off the morning of Sept. 3 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there, the group will head over the Zugspitze (2,962 m / 9,718 ft) into the Austrian Sellrain Valley. On the second day, athletes will cross over the Schafgrübler (2,922 m / 9,587 ft) to reach the Franz-Senn Hut in the Stubai Alpine valley. The last stage on the third day takes runners over the Schaufeljoch peak (3,165 m / 10,383 ft), across the Windach notch and up Schneeberg mountain, through Timmelsjoch pass, and down into the Meran valley in Italy. All together, approximately 2,600 meters (8,530 feet) of climbing and 2,800 meters (9,186 feet) of descent will be conquered over all three stages. Each day, participants will be on their feet between nine and 13 hours.

In addition to the team at DYNAFIT, the Speed Transalp event will be supported by long-time partners, Hindelanger mountain guide agency, the “Die Bergführer” mountaineering school and Polartec.
