To mark Earth Day 2023, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) and some of its members are holding an online fundraiser, while at the same time, calling on outdoor enthusiasts to look after their local environments. Thanks to the generosity of EOCA members, the association is giving outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to ‘Make a Difference’ this spring.
Earth Day has been celebrated annually on 22 April since 1970, to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The theme for this year’s Earth Day is ‘Invest in Our Planet’, building on the success of 2022. Money raised will enable EOCA to continue to support and invest in a range of conservation projects around the world.
The North Face is providing funding via EOCA to a number of not-for-profits hosting Clean-Up Walks across Europe to mark Earth Day, and you are invited to take part! Meanwhile, Cumulus, Jack Wolfskin, Osprey and Ternua are all very generously donating a percentage of their online sales on or around Earth Day to EOCA. HD Wool is creatively holding a bake sale in their HQ to raise funds for the association, and OUTTRA has made a very generous donation to EOCA to mark the day. Details of all the activities can be found at https://www.eocaconservation.org/onlinefundraiser/
Catherine Savidge, General Manager of EOCA has said “We are extremely grateful to our members for their support this Earth Day. It is a great opportunity to make a difference when buying gear this spring ahead of your next adventures, as well as to get involved in proactively making a positive impact on your local environment.”
