The E.O.F.T. is the most renowned film event in the European outdoor community. Now in its 15th year, it brings you the most spectacular sports and adventure fi lms of the year. On October 9th it will begin with a two-hour fi lm program to kick off its tour of Europe where over 300 events are planned in 14 countries.
The young and wild ones:
We’ll be way up where the air is thin, riding through untamed America, breaking records and holding tight to slippery sheets of ice. Now in its 15th season, the European Outdoor Film Tour is suffering no fatigue from age. On the contrary, the new festival program focuses completely on the young and wild ones.
With alpinist Tamara Lunger we experience the longing for extremes. At 23 years of age she was the youngest woman to stand atop Lhotse (8,516 meters) and she proves again and again during her expeditions that she’s got the talent and drive to continue doing extraordinary things. In total contrast to those snow-covered summits, a young longboarder goes blasting down into the valley on the winding roads of the desert-like western Sierra Nevada range. Yet
this year’s E.O.F.T. is not just fast. Ben Masters and his three friends, for example, take a rather decelerated journey across America in true cowboy style, all the way from Mexico to Canada on horseback, through a land that could not be more pristine…

Across the USA on wild mustangs: It is often the dreams from our childhood that drive us to the most unusual and monumental achievements.
For Ben Masters the dream was to ride on horseback across his native United States, a 3,000-mile adventure through the American West from Mexico to Canada. But it wouldn’t be on just on any horse. Ben and his friends Thomas Glover, Ben Thamer and Jonny Fitzsimons wanted to do the trip on adopted wild mustangs that they had broken in themselves. They would ride narrow trails across the desert and through the Grand Canyon, and traverse the wide-open plains. The dream would become an extraordinary journey through pristine America, a place that is slowly but surely disappearing for both rider and steed.
