It was time for full-scale girl power again for what is already the eleventh time at the company Fischer Sports in Ried im Innkreis, Austria. As part of the Girls’ Day Upper Austria, 12 girls had the opportunity to get a taste of the technology behind the scenes for a day. The aim at Fischer Sports was to enable the girls to get to know the exciting world of sport and manufacturing and spark an interest in unfamiliar careers.
“We are always delighted when we manage to make girls feel enthusiastic about technical careers. We can see with our current apprentices that the young ladies are capable of outstanding achievements in the technical field,” says Elisabeth Kriechbaumer, Head of Human Resources at Fischer Sports.
Roman Petermann, who has been in charge of the apprentices’ workshop at Fischer Sports for a number of years and is responsible for their training is rightly proud of the achievements in the past events: “The girls produce excellent pieces of work every year which they can then take home with them. They can put themselves to the test and get a feel for the world of Fischer Sports.”
All participants were full of enthusiasm and can well imagine sending an application to the family-owned company to start out in a career there. “A fantastic day at Fischer Sports with a comprehensive insight into the entire production. I also really enjoyed it when we worked on our own in the apprentices’ workshop. The information about the wide range of opportunities at Fischer Sports is very helpful for me in choosing my future profession,” is what one participant said.
