With the ZULU and JADE, Gregory is introducing two new multiday backpacks for men and women. In doing so, the backpack specialist is focusing on ventilation, carry comfort and fit without making any sacrifices on load management or pack size. The innovative CrossFlo Dynamic Trail Suspension (DTS) ensures effective ventilation – even when the pack is fully loaded. And, as you might expect from Gregory, to make sure that the Zulu and Jade provide the perfect fit they are both available in a range of different back lengths.
The CrossFlo DTS offers effective ventilation for improved temperature management between back and pack in all climates and conditions – no matter how heavy the load. Its sophisticated frame and back panel has a harness yoke which transfers top-down load forces outwards to the tensioned wire frame that stiffens as the pack gets heavier – so the pack’s contents never come into contact with the wearer. This means that air can continue to flow freely around the back panel – even when the pack is fully loaded.
To ensure good carry comfort the anatomically-shaped shoulder straps, hipbelt and lumbar padding contain a mix of open cell foam and Lifespan EVA foam.
Access to the contents is easy, either via the top or using the full-body Uzip on the front. Further details include stretch mesh side pockets for rapid access while on the move, zippered hipbelt pockets, side compression straps and an integrated raincover.
Both the larger Zulu and Jade models feature an integrated Sidekick pack. It acts as either an inner hydration reservoir sleeve or an ultra-light removable daypack and is perfect for summit hikes, or day trips when travelling.
As ever, Gregory has put a lot of work into making sure the Zulu and Jade provide the best fit. This is why the models come in two different back lengths.
