It is about to start a new challenge for the Alpine Adventures Dutch team: at the end of July it is taking a trip to Karakorum in order to climb the majestic Yawash Sar, 6258 meters high.
The Yawash Sar is in North Pakistan and is a part of the Ghujerab Mountain range of Karakorum. The Ghujerab Mountains were explored for the first time only in 1925 by a Dutch couple, but later were organized very few expeditions, so that some parts of the Yawash Sar are even now totally uncontaminated.
An adventure that already begins in succeeding to reach the Yawash Sar: from Islamabad to Gilgit by flight, then by bus to the Karakoram Highway, and then proceeding on boat and on a Jeep along the Chinese borders and finally two trekking days to reach the base camp at 4500 metres.
The team consist of six Dutch people and is sponsored by Kayland. Its challenge is to try to climb the north and ovest face, 1000 meters high and composed of snow and ice.
A real challenge that will keep all us breathless, but even proud of this brave team that is going to try to overcome the limits once again.
