The King of Kanzi -80’s Climbing Festival pays tribute to the wild and crazy 80ies and to the pioneers of sportclimbing. Gear up with Mariachers, Fires, purple leggings, Retro-Snap-T Sweater and a flashy headband in neon-colors and get ready for the fun climbing marathon with your pals. But! We are not only celebrating the outfits of the 80’s, but also the spirit of the non-conformists; we learn from climbing legends where our passion comes from, why we thrive for new verticals and why climbing isn’t just a sport but a lifestyle.
Listen up! Signore Hans Kammerlander is going to tell us about his frist rock climbing ascents in the Dolomites and expeditions to the Himalayas. Play the flut with Nico Favresse, Sean Villanueva, Olivier Favresse and the mighty Reverend Captain Bob Shepton and become a part of their adventure-sailing-journey to Greenland where the group explored and opened new routes on virign big walls.

80’s CLIMBING MARATHON – CORONATION
The second, annual coronation takes place on Sunday, May 15th 2016 at the Kanzianiberg near the Faaker See/Carinthia. Climb on any of the 300 routes for 8 hours and collect points. Participate with your pal in one of the following categories:
- Men U80 (team age: under 80 years) & Ü80 (team age: above 80 years) 1.-3. Place
- Women U80 (team age: under 80 years) & Ü80 (team age: above 80 years) 1.-3. Place
- Coed (team age: under 80 years) & Ü80 (team age: above 80 years) 1.-3. Place
- Most Routes climbed
- Hardest Route climbed
The climbing team with the best 80’s outfit will be awarded with the Golden Lycra-Needle.
