Outdoor. A new concept which has been on the rise in the last years, managing to become a strong trend in the process. It inspires people to do sport outside, go on an adventure in the unspoilt wilderness, still untouched by mankind.
Some would even venture to say that Val Gardena, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was created for the sole purpose of providing a fitting landscape for outdoor activities. In fact, outdoor activities have always been part of this wild valley.
MOVE- Feel the Dolomites is the slogan for ‘Outdoor in Val Gardena’. A paradise for excursions, climbing, trail running and mountain biking during summer, giving way to skiing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, snow shoe excursions and ice climbing in winter.
You can’ get more outdoor than this, surrounded by the breathtaking view of the Dolomites.
Climbing-MOVE runs from 26th July until 2nd August 2015 and kickstarts the season with many more outdoor activities to come throughout the year. Sport climbing, rock climbing, bouldering and slacklining: Val Gardena would like to invite both amateurs and professionals to take part in this Climbing-MOVE initiative in our Dolomites holiday valley. These camps are intended for both the uninitiated and seasoned climbers. the proposed activities will teach beginners the fundamentals of climbing and help everyone else perfect their technique and improve their resistance. It will also be an opportunity for different outdoor brands to showcase their new equipment and clothing and, of course, for you to try them out to your heart’s content.

Thursday, 30th July 2015:
9.00am: “MOVE ROPEWAY-DAY” for all those who prefer a gentle introduction to the world of climbing. In the company of a mountain guide you will be introduced, in complete safety, to one of the famous Dolomite fixed-rope tracks; enjoy the scenery and learn, gently and safely, to take your first steps as a rock climber. Price: 95.00 euro per person
9.30pm – S. Cristina: “MOVE FASHION SHOW” with live music und after-show party
A fashion show with various outdoor clothing and equipment producers presenting their Summer 2015 and Winter 2015/16 collections. An after-show party makes this a fun event. Entry free.
Friday 31st July 2015:
9.30am – Selva: “MOVE FAMILY CLIMBING DAY”
Accompanied by a mountain guide, you will discover the “City of Stones”, just below Sasslong, and the thrilling world of sport climbing. It is a sport for young and old, providing exciting days with all the family, surrounded by nature. Our guide will show you safety techniques and everyone, whether young or not so young, will have a chance to prove their climbing skills.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. The cost is 20 euros for children from 6 to 16 years of age, and 40 euros for adults.
4.30pm: – Selva (NIVES SQUARE): “MOVE TWICE” BOULDERING AND CLIMBING COMPETITION with live music plus aperitif.
Everyone who would like to have a go can take part: various routes on a specially erected boulder wall as well as the Nives climbing wall have to be negotiated, and whoever collects the most points will win. All participants will receive a small present from Mammut, and those who would rather participate as spectators only can enjoy a “MOVE aperitif”, listen to the live band and watch the climbers’ efforts from down below. Entry free.
6.00pm – S. Cristina – (ACTIV SPORT): “MOVE 24H SUMMER”
This 24-hour hike around Val Gardena is now in its third year, and all hikers who took part in the past have rated it as an unforgettable experience. Memorable moments, the breathtaking panorama of the Dolomites and not least the satisfaction of having accomplished something great: this is what makes this 24-hour walk so unique.
Price per person, including mountain guide, dinner, breakfast and lunch (drinks extra): 195.00 euros.
Saturday 1st August 2015:
7.00pm: Ortisei – QUALIFICATION FOR “POOLDER MOVE” (MARDOLOMIT POOL)
The qualification is open to all who fancy taking part and are not afraid to get wet. The top two performers in both the men’s and women’s categories will compete from 7.30pm against Italy’s “boulder elite”!
Entry: 8.00 euro incl. free drink (the ticket is also valid for the post-competition “Poolder MOVE” party)
8.00pm: Ortisei – “POOLDER MOVE” (MARDOLOMIT POOL)
The Summer Party of the year, featuring: a boulder wall right above the water, Italy’s top boulderers and a great live band. This event is unmissable and guarantees a great atmosphere and lots of fun.
