For 2015 Primus introduces some small but significant improvements on their collection of award winning hosemounted expedition stoves OmniFuel and MultiFuel. They both come with new pot supports, that securely lock in the unfolded position and fold much tighter, making the stoves more compact when stuffed away. In addition, they feature minor improvements that make the stoves more user-friendly and easier to handle.
OmniFuel is Primus’ most award-winning stove ever. It has been tested extensively over many years and has proven itself on countless expeditions. It is extremely robust, reliable and powerful and designed to handle demanding situations, higher altitudes, and both low or high temperatures. The updated version is just as capable as before – but in a more compact format. The new pot supports (grids) lock securely in
the unfolded position and fold tighter making the stove more compact when stuffed away.
The jets are clearly marked for each fuel type and screw into the pot supports (grids) so that they never get lost. With 3000 watts OmniFuel delivers generous power for serious expedition use. The stove burns virtually any kind of fuel, including gas, gasoline/petrol, diesel, kerosene/paraffin – even aviation fuel. The control knob allows you to adjust the flame from simmer to boil, even while wearing gloves.
As a result, the OmniFuel is the ultimate workhorse for serious expedition use, suitable for up to four people. It comes with an ErgoPump, a multi-tool with a cleaning needle, nylon bag, windscreen, and heat reflector. Alternatively Primus a set, which also includes a 0.6 litre fuel bottle and a sturdy pouch.
The Primus MultiFuel stove was one of, if not the first real multi-fuel stove in the world and has been around since 1997.
Same as its predecessors, the latest 2015 MultiFuel is a trusty workhorse that burns LP gas, white gas, gasoline/petrol, aviation fuel, kerosene/paraffin and even diesel. It produces a powerful flame even under the most extreme weather conditions. Following the motto “simplicity is the key to reliability”, Primus renounces on purpose on a control knob on the burner. The MultiFuel is not made for
Gourmet cooking but to feed hungry mouths at the end of the world!
The new pot supports (grids) lock securely in the unfolded position and fold tighter, making the stove more compact when stuffed away. The jets are clearly marked for each fuel type and attached to the pot supports (grids) so that they never get lost. Primus delivers the MultiFuel with the sturdy ErgoPump a multi-tool, a nylon bag, a windscreen and a heat reflector.
As a serious expedition stove requires full field-serviceability, both OmniFuel and MultiFuel can be disassembled completely. Every single component can be preplaced and Primus stocks spare parts for many, many years. A special Service Kit containing the most important wear and tear parts is also available.
