For the Slingsby Ultra Jacket, Bergans uses ecodear® for the first time in a lightweight jacket without membranes. The partly plant-based polyester was introduced last year – 30 percent of it is made of molasses, a by-product of sugar production. The combination of the
windproof polyester with a very elastic and hydrophilic fabric on the back makes a very lightweight but still breathable jacket for the required weather protection during active sports. ecodear® marks the changeover from fossil to renewable resources – without compromising on the fabric’s performance as the plant-based manufactured polyester is identical to conventional polyester! The Slingsby Ultra Vest is another alternative in the collection and made of the same material.
