Polartec® Alpha® is a highly breathable insulating material that has already made a name for itself among endurance athletes – especially for active skiing. “Why not put it in a lighter summer version?” thought VAUDE product developers and transferred the concept into a lightweight hybrid summer insulation layer. The Scopi SYN jacket was born.
The lightweight stretch Polartec® Alpha® (60 g) keeps the body at a consistent operating temperature and, together with a high-quality Pertex® Microlight material, protects against hypothermia due to wind-chill effects while retaining good moisture breathability. Sleeves, side panels and the back panel are made of stretchy jersey fabric for fast wicking and unmatched freedom of movement. The jacket also scores when it comes to protecting the earth: the elasthane jersey material is made of 78% recycled polyamide (for example, from discarded fishing nets) in a textile upcycling process (which, by the way, VAUDE also uses in its cycling shorts.)
As an insulating mid-layer or lightweight outer layer, the Scopi SYN Jacket provides the perfect balance of thermal performance, airflow and moisture wicking for sport activities. Mountain runners and other high-energy athletes who tend to travel without gear will also really appreciate the Skopi: an insulating jacket that directs warmth only where it’s needed – without overheating, and around the clock. One day, one jacket!
