VAUDE
Back Bowl
Winter 2019.20

“Back Bowl” calls to mind deep powdery snow, pristine slopes and the fascination of freeriding – just what the Back Bowl 22 and the Back Bowl 30 were designed for. These two freeride backpacks not only offer excellent performance in powder, but also impress with carefully designed details, such as a practical opening at the back.

For the most part, freeriders are an uncomplicated bunch – and they expect the same from their gear. For big days in the mountains, you need absolutely reliable gear. VAUDE’s new Back Bowl backpack duo (22 and 30 liters) shine with two major features: easy handling for freeriding and best possible performance in the snow.

A Buddy for First Lines
Skiing the first track in fresh powder – it’s what every freerider dreams of. And to make this happen, you’ve got to be fast – at least in the bustling ski areas of the Alps. The Back Bowl 22 and 30 backpacks have been designed with this in mind and come with a host of practical features to make freeriding more relaxing. Standard features like our user-friendly diagonal or lateral ski attachment are just as much a part of the program as a helmet holder designed to allow two attachment options. Snowboards can also be easily fastened to the outside of the pack. Another practical feature is a strap on the shoulder strap where you can quickly stow your gloves and hat away if it gets too warm on the way up the mountain.
One feature will particularly delight the freeride fraction: access to the main compartment via a zip opening on the side closest to your back, so you don’t get snow there when you set your pack down to open it. This is especially appreciated on sweat-inducing climbs, when snow is more likely to stick to the padding of your pack. Another practical feature – you can even reach inside the backpack with your skis or snowboard strapped on.

Small and compact, or a bit more spacious?
If you want it a little more compact, choose the Back Bowl 22. Despite its small dimensions, there’s enough room for everything you need on your tour. The Back Bowl 30 offers more space in the main compartment so it’s a great choice for longer day tours or even small hut hopping tours with overnight accommodation.
Both backpacks feature ErgoShape shoulder straps for excellent wearing comfort and more freedom of movement, especially at the shoulders. Other practical details include a separate compartment for avalanche shovel and probe as well as a padded compartment for ski goggles or sunglasses. And of course they’re both hydration system compatible.
