The Dronning Jacket is a technical softshell jacket with a variety of breathability zones based on a body mapping principle – designed specifically for hikers and trekkers traveling with backpack. It features a sophisticated material mix of recycled polyester blended with used coffee grounds to reduce the formation of odors.
The lightweight hybrid softshell jacket for active trekking tours combines wind protection, freedom of movement and a perfected microclimate for maximum comfort. Windproof Pro material used at exposed areas such as arms, shoulders and the front reliably protect against wind. Likewise VAUDE uses a robust softshell fabric in the shoulder straps and hipbelt zones where a certain degree of abrasion resistance is required. Under the arms and at the back, zones of high-stretch fleece ensure vapor-permeable performance. Perspiration moisture is quickly transported to outward which helps regulate the body’s microclimate. Two higher-set zip pockets are easily accessible when wearing a pack, two internal mesh pockets hold items such as a hat or map. Overall, a cleverly optimized design for backpackers who are traveling the famous Kungsleden trail in Scandinavia for instance.
The Dronning Jacket is also a queen in terms of sustainability: the textile materials are bluesign® certified and recycled S Cafe® polyester was used. This material blends used coffee grounds with fiber in an innovative process to make the fabric naturally fast drying, odor resistant and UV protective. To help safeguard the environment, VAUDE uses only fluorocarbon-free waterproofing (Ecofinish) in all soft shells and other water-resistant models.
