The ski touring backpack Updraft is bringing maximum performance to minimalistic design. Created for shorter ski tours on-piste or backcountry, this “handbag for skiers” was designed with everything you need for fast-paced aerobic tours in the mountains.

The ski-touring trend is not only unbroken, it’s taking on new ways to play in the mountains. “A quick ski after work” is no problem in alpine areas. The Updraft with 18 liters is specifically designed for this type of “Light and Fast” style of skiing that does not involve a lot of gear. Minimal weight is paired with an airy design and optimized functionality – leaving all the superfluous bells and whistles down at the car park. At just 520 grams, it gives fast ascents a powerful boost. Shoulder and hip straps are ultralightweight and made of breathable mesh, with added stretch pockets for power bars or a GPS. Ski skins and gloves fit neatly into the side mesh pocket, while reflective elements ensure better visibility when the tour starts after hours.
The diagonal (French) ski attachment only comes into use on short carrying sections, such as over bare ground. For higher alpine use, the Updraft even has a minimalist ice pick attachment. Essential for all tours – whether short or more involved – is safety gear including a shovel, probe and a warm jacket for the way back down, which can be stored in the main compartment. You really don’t need more for a quick and exhilarating ascent to the summit.
