Being active in the world’s most mountainous regions. Rocking the couloirs of Chamonix or the hike up Ortler. Downhill-oriented ski tourers dream of that special line and the challenge it presents. Precisely the kind of skier that Tecnica’s engineers based their work on. New materials, manufacturing techniques and construction methods have made it possible to introduce a new concept in ski boots. The Zero G. It is the ultimate combination of touring boot and alpine boot. With an extremely thin but very stiff shell construction at the calf and sole, it offers outstanding power transfer at minimal weight.
Solid yet lightweight: “Zero G” stands for Zero Gravity and also Zero Limits. With the new Power Light Frame, that runs from the calf to the sole area, Tecnica has created a boot with shell material that is 30% thinner overall, but that is also two and a half times stiffer. In this part of the boot the shell provides support and stability. This altered shank gives it an active angle of 44° in ascent mode, positioning the Zero G in line with current touring boots. So what makes it so special? Four super-lightweight aluminium buckles makes this boot superb on the downhill. Because if skiers can carve perfect turns even on the steepest sections of the Arlberg, they need to correct their balance less, thereby saving energy on long downhill sections and giving them the confidence they need. Their performance benefits too. And all this at less than 1,500 grams (size 26.5).
Three boots – no limits: With three models in the Zero G line, Tecnica has a boot for every type of ski tourer. The Zero G Guide Pro with a 130 flex is the ultimate top model. A Palau inner boot adds a mere 200 grams to the weight and is also fully thermoformable. Laces and reinforcements on the shin give it an optimum fit and excellent downhill performance. With a flex of 110 the Zero G Guide is the sporty version and is easily as much fun on the ascent as it will be down the pristine snow . Technology has also created the female version: Zero G W Guide, with specific form. The forefoot coated Merino is a real plus: cozy, warm and breathable. All models are prepared by bootfitters thanks to CAS Technique. Used with Zero G Blizzard skis, the boot Zero G technology is the perfect choice for long days in the backcountry.
