Gregory is launching its new snow sports pack, the Targhee, available in three sizes. The backpack specialist’s 40 years of experience have resulted in a pack that combines durability, weight and intuitive functionality. Thanks to its elaborate feature set and outstanding fit the Targhee is the perfect pack for all snow sports – from backcountry skiing, freeriding and snowshoeing to groomed slopes – its destined to
make backcountry enthusiasts’ hearts beat faster.
The Targhee series has been in Gregory’s product line “forever”, and the winter packs can proudly claim a long list of awards from ski and snowboard magazines around the world. For Winter 2016/17, Gregory has completely redesigned the Targhee – in fact nearly everything has been changed apart from the name and intended use – and it’s now better than ever.
The heart of the Targhee is its VertFlex suspension. Designed especially to meet the needs of snow sports athletes, it offers vertical stability (for a balanced load) together with enormous freedom of movement. Exactly what you dream of for skiing or snowboarding. The 3D thermoformed backpanel means the pack sits firmly in place. Water and snow-shedding HDF linings prevent snow from sticking to harness, hipbelt or backpanel. Thanks to the optimized foams the Targhee sits on snugly, but comfortably. A further clever feature: Gregory has integrated the hydration tube into the shoulder harness and insulated the sleeve against freezing.
Entry via the backpanel is particularly convenient. Your change of clothing or energy bars are always at hand – even with skis, snowboard or snowshoes attached. And you don’t have to lay the pack in the snow on the suspension side to get your gear out.
Besides the new design and fresh colors, the ski pro’s fast and easy-to-use ski carry options are compelling. And the new EdgeShield abrasion technology will easily cope with sharp ski and snowboard edges. Additional padding also protects the pack’s contents.
The new Targhee series is available from Fall 2016 in Vapor Blue, Navy Blue, Solar Yellow and Patrol Black. It comes in three sizes: 26, 32 and 45 liters. The Targhee 45 features an additional lid pocket and can also be used for multiday tours. Also new are the two belt pockets of the 26 l version as well as the helmet holder of the Targhee 45.
Gregory offers the two larger models in three different torso lengths. Andrea Meerholz, Brand Director for Europe, says, “We’re not willing to make any compromises by using adjustable suspension systems. A backpack has to fit perfectly – like a pair of shoes. Period!”
