Registrations are already open for the 8th Val di Fassa Bike, one of the most important international granfondo mountain bike events, which also serves as an official stage in the UCI MTB Marathon World Series and the Prestigio, Zero Wind MTB Cup and Alpine Pearls MTB Cup circuits.

The date for the 2015 edition has been set for Sunday, September 13th, in Moena, in Val di Fassa (Italy), and once again the event will enjoy the perks of their prestigious partnership with Volvo Car Italia. As usual, Val di Fassa Events a.s.d will be in charge of managing the race, with Cross Country Skiing World Champion and Olympic relay gold medalist Cristian Zorzi serving as technical manager for the race.

There are plenty of new initiatives scheduled, starting with the routes which, for the first time in the history of the Val di Fassa Bike, will be only two: the MARATHON, a test valid for the UCI MTB Marathon World Series, which will be made even more selective with longer kilometers and a few additional climbs; and the CLASSIC, valid as a race on the Italian Cycling Federation calendar, which will be simplified and shorter compared to previous races.

Another new variant is the addition of Val di Fassa Bike in the Zero Wind MTB Cup circuit, which already includes some of the most important off road events in Italy in terms of numbers, notoriety and quality of organization. “This recognition is an honor, and it attests to the hard work we carried out in our first year heading the event” said Riccardo Franceschetti, President of Val di Fassa Events.
