February 1992 represents a special moment for LOWA: in fact, in that exact period Werner Riethmann became LOWA Chief Executive Officer. 25 years later, the entire LOWA personnel has celebrated together with their CEO the successful history of the Company, thanking their leader for everything he has done during these years.

“One thing is a long collaboration, another one is believing in it”, says Werner Riethmann during today’s celebration in Jetzendorf corporate factory. “LOWA: this is what you are. Thank you for these 25 wonderful years.”

Mr Riethmann, during his 25-year-long career as CEO of the German shoe manufacturer, has continously proved to be a true creator. After the difficult financial period which characterized LOWA history in the beginning of the 90s, Werner Riethmann undertook the ardous challenge of leading the company to the place where it belonged.  After Tecnica Group’s take over, he started realizing operations , restructuring, outsourcing and making investments to improve the future situation of the company.

Werner and his team realized a significant step forward in the production development, and in 1997 the RENEGADE model was launched on the market. Today we have the light Allrounder in almost 100 different set-ups. This year the fifth million pair of shoes will arrive in the stores all over the world and as a matter of fact the company is not only celebrating the Werner Riethmann 25 years career in LOWA but also the 20th birthday of the Renegade. This model is one of the most sold Outdoor shoes all over Europe.
