The connection with the earth is the central theme of the 2025 Zamberlan outdoor collection, expressed through new construction concepts and environmentally friendly materials.
With the 2025 outdoor collection, the historic Zamberlan brand marks a turning point in how footwear relates to the ground. Known internationally, especially in the USA, for its structured mountaineering and hiking models, the Veneto-based company has developed two new construction systems based on a different perception of the terrain: no longer something to combat but an “ally” to enhance movement, performance, and well-being.
Adaptive Hero System (AHS) is the first major construction solution from Zamberlan, allowing the sole to minimize negative impacts with the ground through absorption and adaptation.
“Our goal is to emphasize the connection with the earth: whether it’s rocks, stones, grass, mud, dirt, or asphalt, we’ve designed a type of support that can be described as adaptive, meaning it responds by ‘adapting’ to the situation to derive the greatest benefit, both in terms of performance and, above all, comfort,” explains Marco Zamberlan, CEO of the company.
Designed and developed by Zamberlan’s R&D team, the Adaptive Hero System makes Thunder GTX a new milestone in mountain footwear. Unlike other shoes on the market, Thunder GTX midsole is made up of two layers of low-density EVA with a TPU insert in between. The top layer of soft microporous material provides a cushioning effect during walking, while the midsole ensures maximum stability, lightness, and anti-torsion control. The lower layer absorbs the impact with the ground, adapting easily to uneven terrains, and the medium-density EVA insert in the heel area promotes shock absorption. The Adaptive Hero System works effectively with every step, giving Thunder GTX, a hiking boot for moderate difficulty, unprecedented comfort, grip, stability, and cushioning across various surfaces, as well as more energy for the entire movement without tiring the foot.
Active Heel Pad (AHP) is the second construction solution developed and patented by the Zamberlan R&D team to ensure immediate and long-lasting comfort and cushioning. This has been applied to Thunder Pro GTX, a shoe ideal for multi-day hikes with heavy loads. The new Active Heel Pad technology features a PU insert that runs through the insole and is strategically positioned in the heel of the shoe to increase softness and shock absorption, reducing the impact on joints. The result is remarkable: the impact of the heel with the ground is directly transferred to the sole, producing continuous cushioning. The Active Heel Pad provides superior comfort from the first wear and throughout the entire activity.
Another evolution from Zamberlan is Free Blast POP, which promises action, comfort, and flexibility for going anywhere. The construction system features the shoe being mounted on a soft insole: the foot rests directly on the microporous wedge, ensuring continuous cushioning and excellent comfort. Ideal for city use, athletic walks, and travel, Free Blast POP is a shoe inspired by the climbing world. The lacing system extends to the toe, similar to Free Blast, ensuring a precise and comfortable fit. Free Blast POP offers a variety of colors to choose from, making it easy to stand out. Soft and flexible, it is easy to pack in any luggage. The suede upper, from LWG-certified tanneries, ensures durability and flexibility.
Zamberlan’s 2025 collection‘s connection with the earth is also reflected in the choice of materials and production processes that focus on sustainability.
Devero Mid GTX and Low GTX are the most advanced examples of using high-quality recycled materials sourced from certified suppliers. The innovative recycled Jacquard fabric is highly breathable, lightweight, and flexible while being durable, thanks to reduced stitching and the combination of different zones with abrasion-resistant inserts. Comfort from the first wear lasts for many hours of activity and is the strength of this shoe with a bold design. Essential for light hiking and traveling, Devero GTX, available in both Mid and Low versions, offers excellent cushioning, providing energy return without tiring the foot.
Metropolis is aimed at new global explorers who are environmentally conscious and seek freedom of movement. Featuring a high percentage of recycled material, its strength lies in comfort, thanks to the wide fit and extra space for the forefoot. The Vibram® outsole with Ecostep Recycle compound, made with up to 30% recycled rubber, ensures high grip on various terrains and conditions. Lightweight and flexible, it is also available with a GORE-TEX PFAS-free membrane to keep feet dry in any adventure.
The new Zamberlan 2025 collection will be available starting in Spring 2025 at select retailers worldwide and online at zamberlan.com.
